Capital Steel & Builders Supply is a family-owned company proudly ran by 3 generations.
Capital Steel & Builders Supply was started by Harold (Whitey) Nyeholt (formerly a butcher from Detroit) on Depot St. in Holt, Michigan in 1964 where he supplied steel beams and building supplies to local home builders.
Whitey moved the company to its current location on Holt rd. in Holt, Michigan in 1968. Capital Steel & Builders Supply then expanded their services to include Clear-Span Steel Building Systems that were meant to revolutionize the way pole barns were built, and also supply other remodeling and construction supplies to contractors.
Whitey ran the company until his untimely death in 1982 when his step-son William (Bill) Buyak and, Whitey’s brother, Ray Nyeholt took over and streamlined what Capital Steel & Builders Supply had to offer turning the company into a booming success.
Bill and Ray transitioned the company to focus more on steel fabrication and erection of small to large commercial buildings and remodeling of existing buildings, while continuing to supply structural steel to home builders and made Capital Steel into a well-known and respected name in the construction industry that it is today in the Lansing, Michigan area.
